The train is based on purple, the highest-ranking color of the Twelve Ranks of Cap and Robe, and features patterns on its sides that express the harmony of Nara.
The emblem on the front of the train shown in part 1 is the auspicious motif Hanakui-dori, created to express the beauty of the ancient capital Nara and with the wish that it will bring happiness.
