Cherry tree for bloom observation
It’s a Somei Yoshino cherry tree in the grounds of Yasukuni Shrine.
This tree is called the “standard tree,” and when 5–6 flowers bloom according to the Meteorological Agency’s criteria, the flowering of Tokyo is announced.

Baba cherry tree at Koishikawa Korakuen
It’s a weeping cherry tree.
Koishikawa Korakuen was the site of the upper residence of the Mito Tokugawa family, and the tree is called Baba cherry tree because there used to be a horse training ground nearby.
